My First Clubbing Experience

VISUALBASS-BINGOPLAYERS-018

It was a little while after I turned 19 (a couple years ago) and we were going out for a friend’s birthday. I was excited at the fact that I was finally going clubbing. After reading so many PUA books and forums, I thought I would finally be able to feel what being at a club was like and finally get a chance to pick up girls. I didn’t really realize how arduous the process was until that night.

RIP Paul Baumer

We began by driving to the subway station/parking lot and leaving the car there before taking the subway downtown. Parking costed around $6. The subway ride there was exactly $3. Once we got downtown, we had rented a hotel room which probably costed around $50-100 for the night. With about 6 of us there, the cost was about $15 individually. Once in the hotel, we started pre-drinking, everyone split the alcohol price for about $10. I had a nice buzz on, which coupled with my excitement was quite a dangerous mix. I remember starting a random conversation with a couple from Quebec in the elevator.

After pre-drinking, we took a short taxi ride to the club – which my friend paid for. The line was gargantuan, the girls were obnoxious, it was freezing cold outside and a fight broke out in front of me. I think we ended up waiting about 40-60 minutes that night since there was a special DJ that was showing up. Cover was $30. A few girls tried using their vagina power by budding us in line. I was absolutely shocked by what I was seeing that night. I had the naive notion that a club was where men could go and pick up chicks easily and I thought I would get many numbers. Unfortunately, what I saw was an environment that pandered to women, men were treated poorly and female hypergamy was open for all to see. Women were dressed scandalously and looked like sluts but whenever they were approached, they abrasively rejected guys. They made sure their rejections were humiliating for the guys.

All the guys were douchebags, fist pumping with v-necks on and water bottles. Everyone was either really drunk or really high on some drug – possibly MDMA. It was a very hostile environment and I wasn’t really ready for what I experienced that night. Girls passing out because they were too drunk, guys getting into fights over girls, overpriced drinks, rude/bitchy/narcissistic girls that are there to get their egos stroked among other things. I did not in my wildest dreams expect the music to be that loud, I couldn’t hear a thing. I knew it would be loud, just not earth shattering loud. I don’t think I approached any girls that night. Then following the clubbing experience, we went to go get some fast food and hit the hotel.

Overall, not really sure how much money I spent but probably around $60-$80. A costly and forgettable experience as one can see. I was introduced to the dark underbelly of the clubbing industry and I couldn’t be more disappointed.
